Surprise!! Granny Square Blanket - taking this out of neutral to crochet the remaining 122 squares during the summer.  Fingers crossed that I can get it finished in time for our anniversary at the end of September!



Hop on the Party Bus - Pre-Ravelympics Finish-along

For those who need a little boost to get some WIPs finished before the Ravelympics begin at the end of July.  Join us over on the Commuter Knitter Podcast Ravelry group.  Each FO posted in the FO thread before July 15th will be eligible for the prize drawing. Prizes TBD.

My Birthday Wish

I woke up this morning in hopes that yesterday wasn't real.  That it was all a nightmare.  But I could feel my eyes still damp with the tears that wouldn't stop and knew that was not the case. Before yesterday when people would ask me where I lived, and I answered "Newtown, Connecticut", they'd follow up with "Where is that?"  Now everyone knows where Newtown is.  And for all the wrong reasons.  I wish that weren't the reality. I wish that I did not hear the constant buzz of news helicopters overhead. I wish that The Today Show, Good Morning America, and the CBS Early Show weren't broadcasting 4 miles from my house.  Or that if they were it was for something happy. I wish that there weren't 27 new angels in heaven. I wish that these innocent children & educators did not die in vain. I wish that there is real change in this world as a result of yesterday's events. I wish that we come to live in a world where we do not fear...
