30 Day Sweater - Raglan Increases Tutorial

Hi everyone!  It looks as though I will not get an episode out this week, but I'm popping over here because I'm excited to be a part of the media tour for the 30 Day Sweater Challenge run by Johnny Vasquez and Lacie Lynnae.  This Challenge takes place in October when Johnny and Lacie are running a knit-along with 5000+ knitters to create a sweater in 30 days.  If you've been following along with my knitting adventures this summer, you know that I knit not one, but two sweaters this summer - each within one-month's time.  Why not go for three, right? If you'd like more information, check out the 30 Day Sweater website for more information.  Johnny & Lacie are also giving Commuter Knitter Podcast listeners a free copy of their Sweater Planning Guide as a Thank You for checking out the challenge. In the meantime, here is a quick raglan increase tutorial for you to get started: In the interest of full disclosure, as a media partner for the 30 Day Ch...

You've Arrived At Your Destination And So Are You  shawl for  Camp Loopy Project Number 1 Color Affection Drive Big Bang Theory Scarf #howiknit video Double Knitting Basics from KnittingHelp.com Narragansett  by Thea Coleman -  Camp Loopy Project Number 2 Road Maps How to substitute yarn of a different gauge in a pattern.  A little bit of math is involved, but it's not too difficult. Pattern gauge - 4 sts per inch Personal gauge - 4.5 - 5 sts per inch Stitches at the bust to get desired size, which in this case for me is 34: x sts/34" = 5sts/1" x = 34*5 x = 170 sts This will be the number of stitches needed across bust to get the desired 34" bust measurement. Next, look through the pattern to find which size gives that number of stitches at the bust.  Use the numbers for that size in order to get the size I want. I did not mention during this e...
